Maurizio Sarri is excited about clashes with Pep Guardiola

The former Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri was announced last week as the new manager of Chelsea Football Club. It’s something we’ve all seen it coming for months, but now the deal is realized, it’s time to see how Sarri feels about his upcoming spell in London. In an interview with Chelsea TV, the Italian manager told he is really looking forward to the clashes with the other top teams in the Premier League.

Maurizio Sarri sees Pep Guardiola as an example of a manager who brought a certain attractive style of football to the Premier League. This makes it even more special for Sarri that he starts his spell at Chelsea with a clash against Pep Guardiola for the first big trophy at the season. Chelsea plays against Pep’s Man City for the Community Shield on the 5th of August. This will be the first big test for Sarri, although it’s still doubtful with players will participate in this match. There are a lot of rumours about Thibaut Courtois and Eden Hazard leaving the club, while several internationals will return late from a well-deserved vacation after their World Cup obligations.

For Sarri it’s going to be an exciting season, he said about being in the Premier League:”It’s very interesting to play against top manager like Pep Guardiola, Jurgen Klopp and Mauricio Pochettino”. The Italian manager believes the best managers are working in the Premier League at this moment.
