Sochaux or FC Sochaux-Montbéliard, nicknamed Les Lionceaux, is a member of the FFF French Football Federation or Fédération Française de Football. The French Football League Championship is the highest rated competition in France. Sochaux plays in their home stadium, Stade Auguste Bonal, in Montbéliard. Founded in 1928, Sochaux competes in Ligue 1 run by the Ligue de Football Professionnel. They finished 14th in the Ligue 1 Championship play in 2009 and won the Ligue 1 Championship Cup in 1935 and 1938. They won the Ligue 2 Championship in 1947 and 2001; the Coupe de France in 1937 and 2007; the Coupe de la Ligue in 2004; and the Coupe Gambardella in 1983 and 2007.
