English Premiership: Manchester City 4-0 Aston Villa

Manchester City are on the brink of winning their second Premier League title after beating Aston Villa 4-0 yesterday at the Etihad Stadium.

After a nervy and goalless first-half, the Citizens came back from the interval full of confident to produce a second-half goal blitz and put one hand on the Premiership trophy.

Edin Dzeko scored twice in the 64th and 72nd minute to lift his tally up to 16th goals this season while Stevan Jovetic and Yaya Toure sealed the victory in the dying moments.

Manchester City are now at the top of the Premier League table with 83 points, 2 more than second-placed Liverpool ahead of Sunday’s last matchday of the season.

The Citizens host West Ham United while Liverpool take on Newcastle on Sunday at 15:00 hs. The Reds need to win their game and hope West Ham beat Manuel Pellegrini’s men if they want to lift the trophy after 18 years.
