Laurent Koscielny opened the scoring with a simple touch following a free kick by Sati Cazorla in the 26th minute.

Mesut Ozil doubled the advantage before the break after collecting the rebound from Giroud’s blocked effort.

Newcastle never looked dangerous and the Gunners added the third goal halfway through the second period when Ozil found Giroud with a great cross that the Frenchman headed home from close range.

Arsenal took advantage of Everton’s defeat to Southampton on Saturday to move four points clear into the fourth spot with only 2 Premier League games remaining.
