English Premiership: Arsenal 2-0 Palace | West Brom 1-1 Liverpool

Arsenal 2-0 Crystal Palace

Arsenal regained the top spot in the Premier League after two goals from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain eased Arsenal to a 2-0 victory over a dogged Crystal Palace team. The sides went in at half-time goalless, Palace frustrating Arsenal's attempts to get a commanding grip on the game. Just two minutes after the restart though, Arsenal went one up. Oxlade-Chamberlain saw his shot loop over Palace keeper Julian Speroni, and it will most certainly draw a line under the misfortune he's had after his five months of rehabilitation following his knee-ligament injury. The goal required Palace to try and be more adventurous after playing a very defensive first half, but this often found them vulnerable at the back. Oxlade-Chamberlain made it 2-0 17 minutes from time. The 20 year old midfielder traded passes with Olivier Giroud, then collected a ball from Cazorla to hit the ball low past Speroni. Three points for the win means they are now two points ahead of Manchester City, who play Chelsea on Monday evening.

West Brom 1-1 Liverpool

Liverpool couldn't hold onto a first-half lead on Sunday, eventually drawing 1-1 with West Bromwich Albion in the Premiere League on Sunday. Daniel Sturridge scored Liverpool's first in the 24th minute. From what was either a cross or a shot, Luis Suarez knocked the ball into the six yard area and his strike partner Sturridge was there to knock the ball in at the back post. It brought his goal total for the season so far to 18. The Reds looked like they might hang on to their lead to secure all three points, but in the 67th minute Liverpool defender Kolo Toure misjudged his cross-field clearance and the errant ball ended up at the feet of Victor Anichebe. Anichebe took full advantage of the mistake and, after getting himself into a central position, unleashed a shot which found its way past Mignolet. The point means West Brom are now one point clear of the relegation zone, while Liverpool find themselves only two points ahead of fifth-place Everton.
