David Moyes to replace Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford

Everton manager, David Moyes, has been chosen to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson as manager of Manchester United. He will be handed a six-year contract commencing on 1 July. According to a statement on the Manchester United website, Moyes was thought to have the right qualities for the job and was the unanimous choice of the board. United previously approached Moyes about the assistant manager position at Old Trafford back in 1998. Moyes is the third longest serving club manager in English league football, having managed Everton for 11 years. Ferguson is in front at 26 years, with Arsene Wenger second at Arsenal with 16 years.
