Champions League: FC Barcelona 0-3 Bayern Munich (agg 0-7)

Barcelona were given a rare lesson in football domination after being beaten 3-0 by Bayern Munich at the Nou Camp, to earn the Germans an appearance in the Champions League Final. The victory meant Bayern won 7-0 on aggregate, stunning Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund, who they will face in the final on the 25th May.

Going into the game with a four goal deficit from the first-leg, Barça had to come out fighting, and they did, going close a couple of times in the first half. At the break it remained goalless though, and the Germans went ahead early in the second half when Arjen Robben cut inside and put the ball beyond Valdes. Franck Ribery made it 2-0 when his cross was deflected in off Gerard Pique in the 72nd minute.

Ribery was the provider four minutes later for Bayern's third, with Thomas Muller heading home to complete the second-leg thrashing. Barcelona went into the match knowing they had a tough fight, and after the first goal they started to look uninspired and demoralised. Messi was relegated to the bench after being judged not fit to start, and they missed his prowess up front. After Robben's opener they decided it wasn't worth risking him coming on, and that seemed to suggest that the Catalans knew they weren't going to grind out a result. Bayern's win means they go into their third final in four years, having been runners-up against Inter Milan in 2010 and Chelsea last year. The all-German final in May will most definitely be a more contested match than tonight's game.
