Everton put Manchester City's title ambitions on the breaks with a 2-0 home win on Saturday.Leon Osman opened the scoring for the Merseyside team in the first half with a neat finish. The blues of Everton remained organised at the back and scored a second just before the full time whistle.

The Red Devils of Manchester United extended their lead at the top of the Premiership with this comfortable home win against Reading.Wayne Rooney scored the only goal of the game after 20 minutes. The expected follow-ups never happened in what was ultimately a disappointing performance for the fans.Neither side threatened their opponent's goal sufficiently and the match petered out in the second half. Despite that stilted style from United, they stil go 15 points clear ahead of local rivals City.
