2023 Carabao Cup semi-finals

Nottingham Forest versus Wolverhampton Wanderers

Willy Boly opened the score for Nottingham Forest against his former team Wolverhampton Wanderers. A very special moment for the Ivorian center back. They defended this lead for a long time, until Raul Jimenez equalized in the second half. The 1-1 score remained on the board until the end of the 90 minutes. Nottingham Forest took their penalties a bit better, earning a spot in the Carabao Cup semi-finals.

Southampton versus Manchester City

Southampton took an early lead with two goals in the first 30 minutes. Mara and Djenepo both scored a goal. Pep tried to change the match in the second half with his subs. Bringing on De Bruyne and Haaland amongst other, but it didn’t change anything. Manchester City was unable to score against the number last of the Premier League. This brings Southampton in the semi-finals!

Southampton versus Newcastle United

The first semi-final out of the draw was Southampton versus Newcastle United. These semi-finals will go over two matches, which makes Newcastle United the favourite to go through to the Carabao Cup final.

Nottingham Forest versus Manchester United

Just like the first match, this second match has a clear favourite. Where Nottingham Forest would have a chance if it was going over 1 leg, two legs are clear favourites to win this match. A final between the two teams that are currently third and fourth in the Premier League, will be a very interesting one.
