James Maddison might be latest victim of timing WC 2022

The manager of the English national team announced his 2022 World Cup squad on Thursday. Roughly 80% of the squad was pretty clear for months, but the last 20% was really up to Southgate. This caused some very disappointed players and some very excited ones. James Maddison was one of the players who needed to wait till the very last moment to know if he was in the English squad for the tournament in Qatar. Many English football fans made their claims that the form of James Maddison should be more than enough for him to make it on the plane. There were even a lot of fans saying Maddison should be one of the first players on the team sheet. The final word came out on Thursday, James Maddison was part of the squad.
