Quadruple hunt turns into Cup treble hunt for Liverpool

The hunt for the quadruple is officially over for Liverpool. After beating Chelsea in both the EFL Cup and FA Cup finals, the Premier League title was next. With Manchester City being one point up at the start of the final matchday, it looked already very unlikely that Liverpool could still get the quadruple after the final day.

Premier League final matchday

During the final matchday, when Aston Villa was 2-0 up against Manchester City around the 70th minute mark, Liverpool was 1-1 against Wolverhampton Wanderers. 1 Liverpool would have brought them virtually on the first place. Then came the five minutes of madness from Manchester City, in which they scored three goals. This got Man City a 3-2 lead and left Liverpool without a chance to win the title. The Reds finished second on one point behind Manchester City. It has been another amazing Premier League season, with two amazing teams battling for the title.

Champions League final

Now the quadruple is of the cards, Liverpool can still make it a very special season. Coming Saturday, they will play the Champions League final against Real Madrid. We’ve still got Champions League final tickets available on our booking system. If Liverpool wins the Champions League, they will complete the cup treble, with the EFL Cup, FA Cup and Champions League. It isn’t the most exciting treble, but it’s a huge accomplishment to win these three trophies. Jurgen Klopp will use the devastating results on the final day to motivate his team for the Champions League final. Mohamed Salah won’t need any kind of motivation, he got injured during the previous Champions League final against Real Madrid, he would like to get his revanche in Paris this time.
