Entertaining match between Man United and Arsenal

The last match of this midweek round of play, was the biggest match of this weekend. The battle between arch-rivals Manchester United and Arsenal. The rivalry between these teams isn’t as strong as in the time of Roy Keane and Patrick Vieira, but there is still a lot of animosity between fans of both clubs. A loss in this match, will mean a few tough days for the losing side.

Excitement in first half

The first half of this match was a very entertaining one. It all started around the 13th minute, when Arsenal got a corner kick. The ball got cleared from the penalty box by United, but Emil Smith-Rowe took the volley to score the 0-1 for Arsenal. However, David de Gea was down on the pitch. The referee decided to cancel the goal. VAR reviewed the goal and noticed it was Manchester United player Fred who injured David de Gea, so there was no reason to cancel the goal. The goal stood and Arsenal took the lead. A frustrated Man United tried to get the equaliser and got what they wanted just before half-time, when Bruno Fernandes scored the 1-1.

Second half equally entertaining

The start of the second half was even more exciting than the first one. It started with an early goal by Cristiano Ronaldo to take the lead with Manchester United. Just two minutes later it was all square again when Martin Ødegaard scored the 2-2. The game went back and forwards between both teams. A stupid tackle by the same Ødegaard handed Man United the perfect opportunity to get back on top. Who else than Cristiano Ronaldo stepped up to the plate to scored the 3-2 for Manchester United. The Portuguese star scored his second goal of the night. A great victory for Man United under supervision of their new interim manager Ralf Ragnick who will try to get the club back where they belong.
