Liverpool doing its job in gameweek 2

Liverpool and Manchester City have been dominating the Premier League in recent years. This season looks to be different gravy, with both Chelsea and Manchester United joining the title race in the 2021-2022 Premier League season. Liverpool and Manchester City have been the only serious title contenders who played on Satursday in Gameweek 2 of this Premier League season. In this article we talk about the first Premier League match of this weekend.

Liverpool v Burnley

The Reds from Liverpool had a favourable start the season. After facing Norwich City in the first gameweek, they played Burnley in gameweek 2. Both teams started this match well. Despite Burnley’s efforts to keep Liverpool away from their goal, it was an assist by Tsimikas which led to the 1-0 by Diogo Jota. The Portuguese striker finished well scoring his second goal in two games this season. A wonderfull goal by Mohamed Salah was disallowed by VAR, but this decision didn’t stop Liverpool from dominating the game. Although Becker needed to make some great saves, Liverpool was the better team in this battle.

Second half

Sadio Mané finished the job for his team by scoring the 2-0 in the 69th minute. This brings Liverpool on 6 points from the first two matches. Their next Premier League match is going to be a lot tougher, when Chelsea comes to Liverpool next weekend. Book your Liverpool v Chelsea tickets now and watch this match live at Anfield Road.
