Exactly a week ago we wrote an article about Manchester City’s hunt for Harry Kane. Rumours are still flowing around, but nothing has been made official yet. In the meantime, Manchester City is trying to improve on other positions as well. The news broke yesterday that the Cityzens have made an official bid on Jack Grealish. Aston Villa is in contact with Manchester City, but they’re also trying to renew Grealish’ contract.

August busy month in English football

August is going to be a very exciting month in English football. Manchester City will open the season against Leicester City for the Community Shield, transfers will be made, and the Premier League will start again. Teams like Manchester City and Chelsea haven’t bought any new players yet. While Manchester United signed two big players with Varane and Sancho. If Manchester City and Chelsea want to do something this season, they will need improve their squads. One thing is for sure, Manchester City won’t be in time to add new players to their Community Shield squad. They will need to start this match with Leicester City players from last season. Something that doesn’t have to be a problem, since Manchester City was by far the best team last season.

Clubman or trophy hunter?

Even when the clubs find an agreement, it’s up to Jack Grealish to decides what he wants to do. He’s Aston Villa through and through, but does he wants the opportunity to start winning trophies? Manchester City can offer him this opportunity. Playing Grealish in a team with Kevin de Bruyne and maybe Harry Kane will make them an unstoppable force. On the other side when he stays at Aston Villa, he can become the absolute club hero. It’s now up to Grealish what he wants to do.
