The final day of this Premier League season was a very hectic by exciting one. For the Conference League ticket as the remaining Champions League tickets, things could have gone both ways until the very end of the final day. Chelsea, Liverpool and Leicester City were in a fight for two remaining Champions League tickets, while West Ham United tried to secure the second Europa League place. At the same time there was North London battle going on for a ticket to the UEFA Europa Conference League! Both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur tried to nick away that last European ticket. In this article we discuss all European tickets for the 2021-2022 season.

2021-2022 Champions League tickets

The first Champions League ticket for a Premier League team was quite clear pretty early on in this year. Manchester City had a rough start this season, but from the end of November, they got things going. They climbed to the top of the table and took immediately a big lead. Early in January it was clear that Man City would going to win the Premier League and therefore take the first Champions League ticket. Manchester United finished second behind their neighbours. On the last day of the season Liverpool won their match against Crystal Palace, securing a Champions League ticket. With both Chelsea and Leicester City losing on the last day, Liverpool even managed to get the third place. Chelsea had the advantage over Leicester before the start of round 38 and because both teams lost, Chelsea nicked the final ticket!

2021-2022 Europa League tickets

Leicester City got the first Europa League ticket, after failing to qualify for the Champions League. West Ham United was in sixth place before the start of the last gameweek and had a 3-point lead over Tottenham Hotspur. All West Ham had to do, was to avoid losing on the final day. Two quicks goals in succession by Fornals gave West Ham a 2-0 lead, which was more than enough to secure their ticket for the Europa League. A late third goal by Rice was just the cherry on the cake. West Ham really deserved their spot in the Europa League next season.

2021-2022 UEFA Europa Conference League tickets

The last European ticket was a battle between North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur. The Spurs had the advantage before the start, but with five minutes to go, Arsenal was 2-0 up and Spurs were drawing against Leicester. Everything seemed to go in Arsenals favour, until Bale scored the 2-3 for Tottenham, earning his team the first ever English UEFA Europa Conference League ticket.
