Main things to play for in English football

Premier League Title

This is the most important thing for everyone in the red part of Liverpool. With a 25 points lead, it’s inevitable that Liverpool FC is going to win the Premier League title this season. With only 9 more matches to go, only Manchester City is mathematically able to surpass Liverpool.

Champions League tickets

It’s clear that Liverpool will win the Premier League and therefore the first tickets for next seasons Champions League. Four Premier League clubs will qualify for the UCL next season through the league. Next to Liverpool three other teams will qualify. Manchester City looks to have secured the second ticket. They’ve got a lead of 12 points to the fifth placed Manchester United, with an extra game to go for Man City. The problem for the Cityzens is however that they face a European football ban for two seasons. That will mean the fifth placed team will also go directly into the Champions League. Leicester City and Chelsea are the frontrunners for the remaining two tickets, with the likes of Manchester United, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Sheffield United following them.

Staying up

Staying in the Premier League is really important for the teams at the bottom. At this moment there are six teams in serious danger. Brighton & Hove Albion, West Ham United, Watford, Bournemouth, Aston Villa and Norwich City at the teams that will try to finish above the relegation spots.

FA Cup
