Premier League transfers January 2020

The January transfer window is open and there have already been some key signings in the Premier League, but with more than half of the window to go there is still plenty of time for more to come. Here are some of the rumors of potential transfers to come.

Arsenal are looking into the possibility of bringing in John Stones to the club. Stones has only played 10 out of the 22 league matches this season although he was injured for parts of it. It will be a difficult transfer to complete for Arsenal as City are already short on defensive coverage it would be unlikely for them to sell another defender.

Spurs are looking for a new striker after the news that Kane will be out unit at least April. They are looking at AC Milan’s Piatek or Crystal Palace’s Benteke and potential options to bring in.

Another Spurs star that could be on his way out is Eriksen, who’s contract runs out in the summer and he does not seem like he is going to renew it. It is reported that he has agreed on terms with Inter Milan and could even move this window if they offer 20m for him.

Gedsen Fernandes has passed a medical at Spurs at looks set to sign an 18-month loan deal to bring in some midfield cover after Sissoko was injured.

Manchester United are keen to bring in midfield reinforcements and are going to look to Sporting Lisbon for that. Their main target is Bruno Fernandes who was also a target of theirs in the summer but United and Sporting have different valuations of the player which could prove to be a stumbling block.

Chelsea are looking to offload Giroud and bring in another striker to provide more competition for Abraham. Lyon’s Dembele is an option they are considering, but Lyon are unlikely to sell in January especially after Depay has been ruled out for the season.

City are not actively looking for a new center-back but are monitoring the Leicester pair and if they can agree on a reasonable transfer then they will bring in reinforcements during this window. If they cannot find the right deal, then they will wait until the summer and continue the season with the squad that they currently have.
