Arsenal v Manchester City match preview

Arsenal host Manchester City in the Premier League match of the weekend. Arsenal currently sit in 9th place with City in 3rd. Arsenal just ended their seven-match winless run which was the worst in 40 years, when they beat West Ham 1-3 on the weekend. If Arsenal wins this match and results, go their way they could end the weekend back in the top 6 which would be a real positive for their interim manager Ljungberg.

Arsenal have had a poor season so far winning only five out of their 16 matches in the league. They sacked their manager Emery and put Ljungberg in as interim, but their performances have not really improved, and they only beat West Ham because they are also in very poor form at the moment. This means that there could be a hammering coming up for them against City. If City play the way they are capable of then Arsenal doesn’t stand much of a chance in this current form.

City also lost their last match against their rivals United in quite an unexpected performance from United. They outplayed City and were dominant for most of the match. This will make City want to come out and prove the critics wrong and put in a strong performance against Arsenal. This could spell bad news for Arsenal because City are hurt and will not want to lose two games in a row. After the loss to United Guardiola conceded that its almost impossible for his team to win the title now as they are 14 points behind, but they still will want to keep pace with second-placed Leicester.

Arsenal have beaten City 96 times compared to City’s 55 times which is a big difference. However, in their last two visits to the Emirates, they have won and are looking to become the first team to win at the Emirates Stadium three times in a row. It will be an intriguing match to see how Arsenal fare against the champions, but if City turn up then they should win comfortably.

Predicted result Arsenal 1-3 Manchester City.
