Liverpool plays two matches within 24 hours

Liverpool Football Club is getting a victim of its own success. Jurgen Klopp’s team won the Champions League in the summer after beating Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in the final. This means they will play in the World Cup for club teams on the 18th of December. This match will take place in Doha Qatar. On the 17th however, they will play the Carabao Cup quarter finals against Aston Villa in Birmingham.

Jurgen Klopp already spoke about this situation and he said he agreed to do it like this, because he doesn’t want to upset either the EFL or the FIFA. Liverpool found the solution in starting with two different squads in both matches. It’s a solution, but it’s of course not an ideal situation. The team doesn’t have much time to prepare in Doha. Will Jurgen Klopp manage both matches or will he travel with the first team squad to Doha for training? There are a lot of question for Klopp and Liverpool to find a solution for. A few days aftrer the World Cup Final in Doha, Liverpool plays on Boxing Day an away match against Leicester City. All by all it’s going to be an extremely busy period for the Reds.

Not only the club has a problem, also the avid Liverpool fans will need to make some choices. 20 hours after the final whistle in the quarter final, it’s time for the kick-off of the semi-final in the World Cup for club teams. A flight from Birmingham to Doha will take roughly seven hours. Will there be fans who want to visit both matches? An amazing planning is required. The most fans will probably make a choice between both matches. We’ve got tickets for both! So book your Carabao Cup quarter final tickets, or World Cup for club teams semi-final tickets through our secure booking system.
