Arsenal v Tottenham match preview

The first North London derby of the season takes place this Sunday. The match between Arsenal and Tottenham is usually a very entertaining match. Arsenal used to always be the dominant one in North London but recently Spurs have gotten the better over their rival.

Spurs have been in quite poor form in the Premier League spreading back to last season. In their last 15 Premier League matches, they have only won four of them. This is not good enough for a team that is supposedly going to challenge for the title. Spurs did draw against City two weekends ago, but also lost their last match, at home against Newcastle. They need to find consistency and win against the big teams, and this weekend will be a good opportunity for them to prove doubters wrong.

Arsenal started the season alright, winning their first two matches by one goal, with some of their new signings impressing. However, in their last match against Liverpool, it showed that they still have a long way to go if you want to challenge for the title. Arsenal’s defence still needs a lot of work even though they have brought in David Luiz, he still isn’t the finished article for their shaky defence. They will be looking forward to getting Tierney into the team and see if he could help solve some of the issues.

Neither team will want to lose this match before the international break and have two weeks of being on a low. Both teams are struggling to get goals this season. Even with Arsenals great attacking power, they have only scored 4 goals in three games so far which is less than Burnley and Norwich. Spurs, on the other hand, have not done much better and have also only scored 5 goals, with Harry Kane getting two in the first match, but looking a little lost in the following two matches.

Both teams will go out with the intention of winning but will be cautious because also they do not want to lose either. This match is set up to end in a draw.
