Tottenham can play first CL home match at Wembley

There are a lot of problems around the building of the new White Hart Lane. The idea was that the Premier League home match against Liverpool on the 15th of September would be the official openings match of the new stadium. Due to security reasons this match is removed to Wembley. The first Champions League home match for the Spurs, will also be at Wembley.

The Spurs announced that they reached an agreement with the UEFA about playing the first Champions League group match at Wembley. It doesn’t matter if it’s on matchday 1(week commencing 17 September) or matchday 2(week commencing 1 October). The UEFA agreed that the first home match can be played at Wembley.

New Stadium delay

It’s not clear when the new stadium will be ready for use. The problem lies in the critical security systems of the new stadium. It appears that for example the fire alarms need to be tested one by one which costs a lot of time. One thing is for sure: nobody really knows when everything is ready. Keep an eye on update on our site to see for which stadium you should buy your Tottenham tickets.
