Man City stars cut holiday short for Community Shield

It feels like ages ago since the World Cup final was played, although it is only two and a half weeks ago. At the Livefootballtickets HQ we can’t wait for football to return. We’re looking forward to Premier League and Champions League football. Some of the players that featured in the final weekend of the World Cup apparently agree with us. Pep Guardiola saw an early return of some important players that featured in the World Cup final and match for the third and fourth place.

England stars Kyle Walker and Fabian Delph cut their holidays short, together with captain Vincent Kompany. All these players went back to training on Wednesday. The big question is if it’s in time for the Community Shield match on Sunday. We personally don’t think these players will be on the pitch on Sunday. With only four days of training, we can’t expect them to be ready for a big match against FA Cup winner Chelsea.

Belgium playmaker Kevin de Bruyne will be the last player to return together with Raheem Sterling and John Stones. These three players will join the squad on the Monday after the Community Shield for the first training. This means it’s unlikely these players will start the first Premier League match of the season against Arsenal.

Pep Guardiola used preseason to test all his youngsters. In the Community Shield we finally get to see which youngsters really impressed him. Due to the absence of all these World Cup players, the CS match is the chance for youngsters to show themselves on the highest level of English football.

Fans of Man City and Chelsea that want to watch the Community Shield final live at Wembley can book their tickets through our secure booking system. We have a wide range of tickets for fans of both clubs.
