Jorginho available for Community Shield match

Brazilian midfielder Jorginho can make his official debut in English football in the Community Shield match at Wembley. He already knew for a while this match was probably going to be his first real acquaintance with the Premier League, but the only question was which colours he was going to defend. Both Community Shield participants where interested in the former Napoli player.

Chelsea’s new manager Maurizio Sarri appeared to be the deciding factor in Jorginho’s transfer. The Brazilian midfield player has a strong connection with Sarri and is very happy to continue working with him in London. Chelsea is very happy that he’s is going to play for their club. Director Marina Granovskaia said: “He is one of the most wanted midfield players in football at this moment, so we are very happy he signed for us.”

Several English media outlets claimed Man City accused Napoli that they forced Jorginho to go to Chelsea rather than Man City. Pep Guardiola denied these accusations. Pep states that it wouldn’t be the right move for Jorginho when he rather plays for Chelsea. “We tried to sing him, but I always advice players to choose the club they really want to play for. In this case that was Chelsea and I want to wish him the best of luck”. This best of luck probably doesn’t count for the 5th of August when Jorginho plays with Chelsea at Wembley against Manchester City.
