Atalanta Bergamasca Calcio is an Italian football club located in Bergamo, Lombardy, Italy. They are also known as simply Atalanta BC, Atalanta Bergamo or abbreviated as Atalanta. Atalanta has been established in 1907 and are currently in the Serie A league. Atalanta Bergamo’s greatest victory in Serie A happened when achieving 5th place in 1948. Having experienced ups and down in their history, Atalanta were relegated into Serie C1 in 1981 which is the 3rd highest football league in Italy. Atalanta Bergamo ambitiously climbed up the following season in 1982 and returned to the second division (Serie B). The Italian team Atalanta BC continued their success when competing again in Serie A in 1985 which didn’t last for a certain time as they had to continue playing in lower leagues in 1988, 1995, 1998 and 2005.
