Real Murcia currently compete in the second division or known as Segunda División in Spain. Murcia received their first promotion into the La Liga in 1939-40 and again in 1944. Real Murcia mostly competed in the second division but proudly accomplished to play once again in the Primera División during 1980-81 and continued so for another 9 years.
