The UEFA Champions League is an annual continental club football competition organized by the UEFA or Union of European Football Associations and contested by top-division European clubs. England Premier League clubs still in the 2016 – 2017 tournament are Arsenal, Leicester City, and Manchester City – Tottenham Hotspur was knocked out. Other titan European sides who will compete in the upcoming 2017 Round of 16 in February and March are Monaco, Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern Munich, Benfica, Borussia Dortmund, Barcelona, Sevilla, Juventus, Napoli, Paris Saint Germain, Porto, and Real Madrid.

Current holders Real Madrid are the most successful team to date in the European Cup and UEFA Champions League in the past, followed closely by their arch-rivals FC Barcelona. After nearly 25 years and more than 220 games apiece, only five points separate the Merengues and Barca. Bayern Munich are third, Manchester United who are not in the UEFA Champions League this term are in fourth, Arsenal are fifth, and Juventus are in sixth just ahead of AC Milan. Madrid have played the most matches (231), earned the most wins (136) and scored the most goals (483) yet leaked the most goals (247). Manchester United have earned the most draws (54), and Porto have the most losses.
