English Premiership: Everton 1-0 Man City | Man Utd 2-0 Stoke
Everton 1-0 Manchester City
Manchester City's Premier League title hopes were hit after losing 1-0 at Everton from a goal by former Man United midfielder Darron Gibson on Tuesday.
Gibson's first goal since leaving Old Trafford in the January transfer window via a deflection off Gareth Barry on the hour consigned City to just its third loss of the league campaign, and boosted the title hopes of his old team.
The Northern Ireland midfielder's deflected shot in the 60th minute gave David Moyes' team a lead which they held on to despite mounting City pressure at the end of the match.
City is now only top on goal difference after United beat Stoke 2-0, while Everton climbed to ninth in the table.

Manchester United 2-0 Stoke City
Manchester United beat Stoke City 2-0 at Old Trafford, with both goals coming from the penalty spot, one dispatched by Javier Hernandez and the other by Dimitar Berbatov.
With Wayne Rooney still out with an ankle injury, Ferguson partnered Berbatov alongside Javier Hernandez up front and both made no mistake from the spot.
Mexico striker Hernandez fired home on 38 minutes after Jermaine Pennant had felled Park Ji-sung.
United were awarded a second penalty eight minutes after halftime and this time Berbatov scored after Antonio Valencia was brought down.
The results mean the two Manchester clubs have 54 points each with City only on top because of their superior goal difference (six better than United).

Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 Wigan Athletic
Gareth Bale scored twice as Tottenham tormented a hapless Wigan side at White Hart Lane.
Spurs followed up their defeat to Manchester City with poor displays against Wolves and Watford but they were at their best last night to beat Roberto Martinez’ men, playing their usual brand of free-flowing attacking football before Bale put them ahead in the 29th minute.
Luka Modric despatched a cool 18-yard strike to make it 2-0 five minutes later and Bale scored his second after 64 minutes before James McArthur grabbed a late consolation for the Latics.
Tottenham still sit third in the Premier League standings, and have a tricky trip to Anfield to face Liverpool to negotiate on Monday night.

Swansea City 1-1 Chelsea
A last-gasp own goal by Neil Taylor gave Chelsea a 1-1 draw at Swansea on Tuesday, as the Welsh club was narrowly denied another impressive home victory in the Premier League.
Scott Sinclair had given Swansea the lead when the former Blues winger volleyed the ball over Petr Cech five minutes before halftime after a poor defensive header by Jose Bosingwa.
Swansea, which stunned Arsenal at Liberty Stadium two weeks ago with a 3-2 win, looked set to take another big scalp when Chelsea defender Ashley Cole was sent off for a second booking in the 86th. However, the visitors still leveled when Bosingwa's shot was deflected into the net by Taylor in injury time.

The England striker half-volleyed home Charlie Adam's cross in the 53rd minute as Liverpool kept their hopes of a Champions League place alive.
Craig Bellamy and Dirk Kuyt were also on target as the Reds dominated the second half against Mick McCarthy's strugglers, who have now gone nine games without a win in all competitions.
