Roda JC, nicknamed The Pride of the South, De Koempels and De Limburgers, is a member of KNVB, Koninklijke Nederlandse Voetbalor Bond or Royal Netherlands Football Association and competes in The KNVB Cup or Dutch Cup tournament competition as well as the European Cup and UEFA Cup. Roda JC is a member of the Eredivisie or Honorary Division - the top tier Netherlands football league. Roda JC known as Sport Vereniging Roda Juliana Combinatie competes at their home stadium, Parkstad Limburg Stadion, located in Kerkrade. They came in 16 th place in the 2008-09 Eredivisie League play, and won the championship in 1956. Roda won the Eerst Divisie in 1973 and the KNVB Cup 1997 and again in 2000.
