Stamford Bridge Stadium
Name:
Stamford Bridge
Capacity:
40,341
Address:
Fulham Road, Fulham, London SW6 1HS, UK
Description:
Since the foundation of Chelsea Fc in 1905, Stamford Bridge has been their home. The stadium, located in South West London, is often referred to as The Bridge. The authentic stadium, with fans being close to the pitch, makes Stamford Bridge one of the more intimate stadiums in the Premier League.
Stamford Bridge stadium guide
The four stands at Stamford Bridge hold place for 40,431 supporters. These fans take place in one of the Shed End, Matthew Harding Stand, East Stand or West Stand. In this paragraph we talk you through the differences of each stand.
The Shed End
The Shed End is located behind the goal on the southern side of the stadium. This is widely seen at the stand for the die-hard Chelsea fans. the most vocal Chelsea fans sit in the Shed End. If you want to feel one of them, you need to get your tickets for this stand. The team usually tries to play towards the Shed End in the second half, so with your support they might be able to do damage in the last 45 minutes.
Matthew Harding Stand
This stand is named after former Chelsea vice-chairman, who passed away in 1996. The Matthew Harding stand is right across the Shed End, behind the goal in the north. It's a little bit less loud than the Shed End, but louder than the East and West Stand.
East Stand
The East Stand is one of two in between Shed End and Matthew Harding Stand. This stand houses the most of the hospitality and premium sests. Especially the middle tier is reserved for hospitality guest. This also means its one of the quieter stands. At the same time it has the best sightlines for the football fans.
West Stand
The West Stand is the main stand, home to the players' tunnel, dugouts, directors' box and press facilities — this is the TV-camera side of the ground, where you'll see the managers working the technical area. The atmosphere is similar to the East Stand: engaged but calmer than the ends. Seats near the halfway line offer the best view of the tunnel and dugouts, so arrive early to watch the players come out for their warm-ups.
Which stand should you choose?
| Priority | Best Stand | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Best atmosphere | Shed End Lower | Where the singing starts, most vocal fans |
| Best view | East/West Upper Central | Perfect sightlines, see everything |
| First-time visitor | East or West Stand | Balance of atmosphere and views |
| Families with children | East Stand Lower/Upper | Good facilities, comfortable seating |
| Budget-conscious | Matthew Harding Upper | Good value, decent atmosphere |
| Singing & standing | Shed End Lower | Expect to be on your feet throughout |
| See the players up close | West Stand Lower Central | Tunnel and dugout views |
| Atmosphere + good view | Matthew Harding Lower | Best of both worlds |

Other information
Founded in 1905, Chelsea have spent most of their history in the top tier of English football and have played at Stamford Bridge since their establishment. The Blues have been owned since 2022 by BlueCo, the consortium led by American investors Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital, who took over from Roman Abramovich. The past two decades have been the most successful period in the club's history: a first league and FA Cup "Double" in 2010, a first Champions League in 2012 and a second in 2021, followed more recently by the 2024/25 Conference League and the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. The 2025/26 campaign was a difficult one, with Chelsea finishing eighth and changing managers twice before agreeing to appoint Xabi Alonso as head coach to lead the next chapter at Stamford Bridge. With your Chelsea tickets you can experience this famous stadium for yourself.
English influences
For all of Chelsea's cosmopolitan history, the current side is built around a strong English core. Playmaker Cole Palmer has become the team's talisman and one of the most exciting English forwards of his generation, while captain Reece James leads from defence and homegrown centre-back Levi Colwill anchors the back line. Academy products such as Trevoh Chalobah, Tosin Adarabioyo and teenager Josh Acheampong add further English presence, keeping a clear thread between Chelsea's youth setup and its first team.

Chelsea's Greatest Rivalries
Arsenal
The friction between Chelsea and Arsenal goes back to the 1930s, and many polls reveal that the majority of Chelsea fans consider the Gunners their main rivals. Their London meetings are always among the most anticipated fixtures of the season.
Tottenham Hotspur
Chelsea and Tottenham share a fiery history, on and off the pitch, stretching back more than 40 years. Alongside the strong tackles and flashpoints on the field, there has long been bad blood between the two sets of supporters, making this one of the most heated London derbies.
